Relationship Between Thickness of remaining Tooth Substance and Amount of Abutment Preparation for Full Veneer Esthetic Restoration in Korean


Abstract
The propriety of amount of tooth reduction for esthetic full veneer restoration was evaluated in Korean, for which we measured the thickness of tooth substances after crosscutting perpenducular to long axis in 80 teeth.
@ES The results are following:
@EN 1. The thicknesses at midpoint of labial surface in mesiodistal direction are small compared to the thickenss of mesiolabial and distolabila line point in the levels of cervical 1/3 of crown and cementoenamel junction.
2. More than 1.0mm of tooth substance can be preserved donly in maxillary premolar and molar of both jaws applying 1.2 mm to cervical 1/3 of labial surface.
3. More than 1.0 mm of tooth substance can be preserved donly in molars of both jaws applying 0.8 mm to cementoenamel junction of labial surface.
4. To get esthetic result with preserving pulp vitality, current full veneer esthetic restorations are not suitable to mandibular incisors and mandibular and maxillary premolars of Koreans.
